While Mr. May enjoys a diverse industry mix of clientele, he is known for his expertise in the professional services, real estate, oil and gas, retail, government contracting and internet commerce industries. He also works closely with not-for-profit organizations, helping them obtain tax exemption, addressing unrelated business income tax complexities, and achieving public support tests. | | Judith P. Barnhard, CPA Ms. Barnhard is the partner in charge of the accounting and audit practice at May & Barnhard, PC. She is responsible for the overall quality control of the audit practice, which specializes in providing accounting and auditing services to not-for-profit organizations, government contractors, retail organizations and closely held businesses. Ms. Barnhard also prepares tax returns for businesses, not-for-profits and individuals. She is the former Chair of the Accounting Standards Committee of the Maryland Association of CPAs and has spoken and written on such topics as joint allocation of fund-raising costs, unrelated business tax, and other issues related to not-for-profit accounting. | | Gail R. Halpern, CPA, PFS Ms. Halpern is a consultant at May & Barnhard in the areas of trust, estates, and personal financial planning. In the area of trusts and estates, her primary focus is on trust and estate planning, international estate planning and administration. In the area of personal financial planning, she specializes in income tax planning, intra-family income shifting, cash flow planning, investment planning, retirement planning, and insurance planning. Ms. Halpern also prepares estate, fiduciary, and individual tax returns. | | Keri L. Woodworth, CPA Ms. Woodworth is the director of the tax and accounting services division at May and Barnhard. Tax services includes managing the preparation and review of federal and state income tax returns for corporations, partnerships, non-profit organizations, and individuals. She is also responsible for all accounting and bookkeeping functions within the firm; preparation of compiled financial statements; all payroll issues; and personal property returns. Ms. Woodworth also performs audit and review engagements for non-profit organizations. Her interest and experience is with closely held, entrepreneurial businesses and its owners. Ms. Woodworth is also responsible for consultation, implementation, training and on-going support for clients who have QuickBooks software. |  | Jane M. Ochsman, CPA, CFP®, CDFA™ Ms. Ochsman is the manager of the financial planning and litigation support division at May & Barnhard offering clients divorce planning, financial and tax consultation, and expert witness testimony. She provides personalized advice and support to clients in making crucial and informed choices to protect, preserve, and grow their financial assets. Ms. Ochsman has over twelve years of experience in the financial and accounting services industry with emphasis on individuals, closely held businesses, and real estate. Ms. Ochsman is certified in accounting, financial planning and divorce financial analysis and is trained in mediation and collaborative divorce. She is active in the Collaborative Dispute Resolution Professionals (CDRP) in Maryland, the District of Columbia Association of Collaborative Professionals (DCACP), the Collaborative Professionals of Northern Virginia (CPNV) and is a member of the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA) and the Financial Planner’s Association (FPA).
